jgd3 has done a great post with some of the groups pumping out free anti-war music. I wanted to take some time to point out local Boston artists who are doing the same. As usual,
Ellis Paul is at the forefront with his signgle "
Change". It's everything one would expect from an Ellis Paul song. I think I'm going to fire an email over to Jennifer Kimball who just announced her involvement in a new group called "Family Affair" which includes loads of other local folk artists:
Kris Delmhorst, Billy Conway, Dana Colley, Laurie Sargent, (of the
Twinemen) Andrew Mazzone, Ry Cavanaugh, Billy Beard, Kevin Barry and
Jimmy Ryan. She had recently been performing as part of "
Maybe Baby" with
Ry Cavanaugh.
On said recommendation from
jgd3, the wife and I are going to
Finz to check out
Erin Dooley who is opening for
BrotherSun. Surprising place for live music....but a welcome suprise at that.
But I digress - I bet there's a lot more antiwar songs hitting the local coffee & club scene. I'll send out a few emails to see what I can find.
