Are you good with people, have seen all the Harry Potter™ films and are a Harry Potter fan, and and have an authentic British accent? Then the Museum of Science wants to hear from you!

The Museum of Science announced on July 22 that it will be hosting the East Coast premiere of the new Harry Potter™: The Exhibition currently having its world premiere at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. The MOS will be the second host of the exhibit, running in Boston from mid October 2009 through late February 2010. POSITION SUMMARY:

Six (6) positions must be in the exhibit at all times. The staff in these six positions must have an authentic British accent at all times! Ideal candidates will have some familiarity of the Harry Potter™ films, and work well in direct contact with the general public. The Exhibit Host will work in all six positions, rotating about every hour or so into another position. Again, all six positions must be in place whenever the exhibit is open; an authentic British accent will be used at all times.

NOTE: You will be on your feet at all times while working!

SHIFT NEEDS:
Both full-time (35+ hrs/wk) and part-time (10 to 16 hrs/wk) temporary Exhibit Hosts are needed to provide the necessary coverage in this exhibition. The Museum of Science will be hiring for 20+ total temporary positions.

The ideal candidate will have as much schedule flexibility as possible to work mornings, afternoons, and some evenings, on any days of the week and weekends, from mid October 2009 through late February 2010. The exhibit is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:
There will be an audition/interview process for these Exhibit Host positions starting in mid September. Applicants will be asked to speak in an authentic British accent for the entire audition/interview process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* You MUST be at least 18 years old
* You MUST be able to maintain an authentic British accent for the duration of your shift.
* You MUST be able to continuously carry and hold a lantern weighing up to 10 pounds while delivering lines from a script.
* You MUST be able to work from mid October 2009 through end of February 2010
* You MUST BE AVAILABLE to work during the following periods:
** A required training period in mid October (exact dates to be determined)
** Opening week (October 21-26, 2009)
** Thanksgiving weekend (November 27-29, 2009)
** Christmas vacation (December 23 & 24, and December 26, 2009 through January 3, 2010)
** February school vacation week (February 13-21, 2010)

PAY RATE:
$13.00 per hour (non-negotiable). OT will be paid for any hours over 40 in a work week. A 45-minute unpaid lunch break will be included on shifts of more than six hours. Potential to earn retention bonus.
