B.K. DeLong as "Professor Millennial Epoch", a fictional character developed for his selected public reading during Harry Potter Book 6 festivities at the Barnes & Noble Mall of America the evening of July 15, 2005.

That's a Time Turner on my arm, not a wristwatch and the broach pinned to my cloak is that of Clan MacIntyre, my Scottish Clan. The shirt and pants were both made by a friend (doctoraicha) and the cloak is a Moresca from long, long ago.

B.K. DeLong as Professor Millennial Epoch: "Good evening. I am Professor Millennial Epoch from the Salem Witches Institute of Salem, Massachusetts where I teach Muggle Studies & History of Magic. However since by the end of this evening you will no doubt have a mass memory charm cast upon you, I can also tell you that to further my research and investigation of the Muggle world, I also participate under the name "B.K. DeLong" in a fan site called "The Leaky Cauldron dot Org" dedicated to Harry Potter."

"Tonight, it is my duty to give you a history lesson. Not one of those old, boring stories of the Salem Muggle Witch Burnings in the 17th Century but something much more recent. In 1996, Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter battled with Lord Voldemort himself in the middle of the British Ministry of Magic and it was then that the country's Minister of Magic finally admitted to "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's" return."

I wanted to do something fun at the reading, but not too overboard. B&N thought it would be neat if I dressed up so I cobbled together a costume. But I didn't want to appear, per se, as "B.K. DeLong the Harry Potter fan wearing a costume" so I created a fictional character.

Incidently, this was my first Harry Potter fan fiction ever. I've been thinking about a Salem-based Witching Community for years...choosing various wizard places under "Muggle Protection Charms" and even coming up with their own version of Diagon Alley. Maybe some day I'll see if I can write it.
