BrainStream: Rage Against the Kerry
Sep. 2nd, 2004 12:34 pmI haven't posted these last few weeks because at work we're heads-down preparing to bring ourselves up to 900 published courses. But after hearing last night's speeches from Zell Miller, Dick Cheney & (not MY) Governor Mitt Romney, I had to vent my frustration and disgust.
One of the things that struck me during the DNC was the edict sent down to not attack GWB in speeches. There were a few swipes - but that was nothing compared to the anger, vitriol and hate coming out of the Republican Party against John Kerry. I'm going to see if I can dig up transcripts of all the "Prime Time Speeches" of both conventions, just to see how many times Bush is mentioned at the DNC and how much Kerry was mentioned at the RNC because this is just ridiculous.
Also, what is going on with this hatred towards the UN? It's OK for us to take advantage of sending jobs overseas to make more money and import cheaper goods from overseas to allow businesses to thrive but when it comes to International policy, we give the finger to the world?
"If you believe this country, not the United Nations, is the best hope of democracy in the world, then you are a Republican! " - Arnold Schwarzenegger in his speech to the RNC.
"Senator Kerry has made it clear that he would use military force only if approved by the United Nations. Kerry would let Paris decide when America needs defending. I want Bush to decide." - Zell Miller in his speech to the RNC.
I cannot believe people are supporting a party of such hate.
